I decided that will be the end of my blogging days.
I didn't even bother to create a post titled "Blogging Spree ends on DD/MM/YY"
just end it

But today, is the beginning of the rest of my bloc leave days.
And today, I am sick.
Since I can't move any other part of my body.
I figured why not blog.
Well, to summarise the past 4 months of my life is no simple feat.
So I shall just mention some of the highlights tt took place.
NS
First and foremost, like every other chao recruit in Tekong, I POP-ed
I wasn't the loud guy in my company.
So, I didn't shine or whatever fuckshit you call it.
Thus, I never invited my parents to my POP; I didn't make them proud
I figured I'll get them to attend my Commissioning IF I make it to Command school, otherwise don't bother. Not an outstanding son anyway.
And so to summarise, I am not excited at the whole passing out thing.

NS Life
Well, if you're wondering did NS change me
The answer is "Yes"
For the better? "Probably not"
Few significant changes I notice about myself.

Definition of Beauty:
That definitely dropped
Perhaps when things get uncommon, things do get interesting.

Let's just take ice-cream for example.
Since young I NEVER crave for ice-cream
But when for the first time, my peers and I saw ice-cream in the camp canteen
we were like "WOAH!!!"; "OMG!"; and all those kinda nonsense.
Even me
in minutes, I was sucking away the ice-cream like all my peers, like a happy kid

So now, when I book out
My eyes does wander around
To put it in a good way, I am "more man"
Otherwise, you can call it lust.
But really, trust me, to have a girl wait for you to book out is something blissful

I mean, every bookout, you know there's someone who cares and share with you out there
and every book in, you know love is in the air and you can find sweet reasons to fight for in camp

Filial Piety:
People say that when you are distant from your family, there is when you will cherish them most
I say it's true
I remember when my OC reminded us about our family when I was outfield, in the jungles.
I cried, everybody did.
But I cried for nothing, my parents didn't wrote me a letter most probably cos they don't understand english. But i know they care.

And when I bookout, you thought I'll be more bonded to my family members
I thought so too.
But no.
I do care about them more
But most of the time, I will be out to re-live the lost freedoms,
and when I'm home, I am too shag to move. Most of the times, I am hibenating on my bed.

Vulgarities:
I think you should have notice by know
My mind is no longer over body
My lips move in a pace faster than my brain does
and words of uncouth just keeps spilling all over the place
it's a bad habit picked up in NS.

everyone does it, and I am part of everyone
But well, I am trying my best to leave the clique

So that's my part of NS life.
If there is anything, I learn good in NS
It's looking things in bigger picture.
It's hard to explain, but ya I look at things in a more neutral angle nowadays
(which is not tt gd either, cos I used to be more positive! now it's neutral. haha)

My NZ Trip
Next thing
I realise I never mention about my backpacking in New Zealand in my blog
So now is the time
Camera? Yes DSLR!
Photos? No, DSLR froze to death in the first day. WTF! i shall make up with googled picture then
Memories? Not 100% fun, but memorable cause there were some sick happenings.

Allow me introduce the sick happening in my 14 days along with some other highlights.

University
Well,
I got to visit the prospective University of Auckland (it's abit like SMU) under the Psychology Faculty and listen to how their lecturer speak
One Tree Hill
Then, I went to places to sight-see
where? i don't exactly remember.
But there were places like
One Tree Hill where the tree got chopped down by some angry man so it's now "One Tree Hill with only the Hill left"
And there were the zoo. Nothing special except that I went on a day tt is FREE ADMISSION!

Kiwi
and I went to see the kiwi bird and ate the kiwi fruit
Well, if you didn't know kiwi fruit originated all the way from China

and tt there are so many rare creatures and plants in New Zealand because it was like the most isloated (and therefore life evolves differently from the rest of the world) and the least polluted country in the world until some Dutch did a the remarkable colonization

as for Kiwi bird
nothing special other than the fact that they are weak in the "New Environment (after Dutch bring new animals in) and they have no wings to excape these new predators
oh and there are like lots of different species of Kiwi bird but I can't remember how many.
I went to their art museum, mostly about Maori ppl because the the natives are the Maori's not the ang mohs and that explains why land is so vast yet so expensive in NZ, cause the land issues between the angmohs and the Maori is still an issue there now.

Victoria Street Market
I went to their street market (Popularly known in Singapore as "pasamalam")
and I got a good jacket at just 25 buck!

Waikato Island
their Waikato Island (i think that's the name)
VERY beautiful nature and scenery with a SPOILT DSLR makes my day
Wellington
I went to their capital at Wellington
I went to...
cemetries;

Wellington Cathedral
churches. I went for the morning session and pray for myself; my family; my friends
But I stood outside the chapel throughout the ceremony since I consider myself a free-thinker and will be disrespect to enter without belief

Wellington Cable Car
took a Cable Car
well, their cable car is like $1, like 50 times cheaper than Singapore but their cable car is...

Wellington Botanic Garden
Climbed the Wellington Botanic Garden
if you're wondering why I mention climb
it's because for some reason, their botanic garden is steeper, taller than our Bukit Timah Hill...

Experiences?

I spend a good 6 hours hiding in a phone booth waiting for my bus in the middle of the night
while hiding from the dark street, cold weather and cold people outside

Glowworm caves
I did the last session and manage to get extra "sneak previews" because there were just me an 2 other ladies

Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand)
did the earthquake simulator room.
close enough to grant my wish of experiencing Eartchquake once in my life but still not real enough.

Experience small town
I took buses from city to city and they have breaks in suburbs
Things really are different from Asia, they have natural good environment without the need for them to do all the grass trimming
Surrounded by mountains and grassland
Buildings are all low-rise
But amidst all these, I somehow feel that the place, the people are cold from one another even though I see warm some every so often.

Fun?
I did
Zorbing
It's dumb because they make you sign a death contract thing
and you pay like 50 bucks to ride a zorb down a hill for like 30secs

White-water raftng
It's cool because that is really the life threatening incident since my boat capsize
SpeedJet
The ride was average but the oppurtunity to sit 1-1 and chat with the competitive driver is totally cool
Bungee Jumping
I don't know how I did it, but I did and I'm still alive.

Turn-off experiences?
I always thought it's cool that NZ and Australia ends their business hour at 5
and friends and family get to sit down and chat at the comfort of their own home during each night
but it's also total inconvenience
it's hard to get to places
hard to get stuff
no place to chillax
and worse, every night seem so creepy.
Hostel:
Basically there're these 2 encounters
The 1st is simple, I stayed over at this Hostel with a German and a Australian
The Australian is racist against me!

Hostel encounter 2
I saw ghost!
no la.
Long story
its a 2 double-decker bed room
so i was sharing room with 2 german and an american
we had a good chat before going to bed
The Germans were real cool, they were saying they are into Service work and I was sharing with them my Service-Learning experience
but soon enough, it was morning and since I have a bus to catch, my watch woke me up
But wad really make me awake was the shaking of my bed
I was like "WTF"
and I kept silent,
nope not earthquake
BECAUSE I HEARD GIRL MOANING!!!
and to my disgrace, when i left my bed to take a quick shower,
the German guy is "doing" it with another women
and the women have the cheek to tell me:
"Hey sorry! I told him to come over to my place, but he insist on here"
and i was like
"..."
"..."
"..."
"it's alrite"
and off i go!
FUCK THEM!
The first time me seeing this is not me doing it,
but 2 random dude/ttes
totally turn-off

Brunei
On my way back to Sing, I took a transit at Brunei and I went for a 1-day tour over there
Brunei is a nice, simple and VERY safe place
They can have Gold platings left unguards,
and not stolen for years.
It's a welfare country I'd say
If I was a muslim, I would definitely migrate there
there I made my only true friend in my trip
we were like the only 2 youths in the bus and yeap we chatted throughout our trip
she's like some English-cum-American gal
and she gave me her name to look for on facebook so that I can pay her a visit if I get to backpack Europe!

To summarise,
I will, never in my life, forget the every moments that occured during my 14 days stay.
It is both fun, lonely and toruturing, but that is what makes it memorable.
It's an experience.
An experience that co$t, but taught me alot.
If God would have allow me to have a brother.
I will have long gone to travel the world.
Last thing you may or may not want to know about me
I am stuck in my dark room now
becos I am sick with diarrhea
left with $2
and my bulb is spoil
that $2 most probably did the job of explaining why I am stuck
